  • Eibach 19mm Rear Sway Bar - 2006-2015 Honda Civic

Your 8th gen or 9th gen Civic rolling too much in corners? The Eibach 19mm rear sway bar stiffens up your rear suspension so your car doesn't lean as much when you're turning. Your factory rear sway bar is thin and it doesn't resist body roll enough. The Eibach bar's 19mm diameter (thicker than stock) and it's got two adjustment settings so you can dial in how stiff you want it. The stiffer bar reduces body roll, which keeps more of your tire's contact patch on the road. More contact patch means more grip. If you autocross your Civic or you just hate how much it leans in corners, this bar makes a noticeable difference. It's even better if you're already running Eibach Pro-Kit or Sportline springs because the sway bar balances out the stiffer springs.

Here's What a Rear Sway Bar Does

Your sway bar connects your left and right suspension together. When you turn and your car leans, one side of the suspension compresses and the other side extends. The sway bar resists that motion and it tries to keep both sides level. A thicker sway bar resists more, which reduces body roll. Less body roll means your tires stay flatter on the road instead of rolling onto the sidewalls. When your tires are flat on the road, you've got more grip and your car turns better. The Eibach bar's thicker than your factory bar, so it reduces roll way more than stock.

    Two-Way Adjustable Settings

The bar has two mounting positions on each end. You can mount it in the softer position or the stiffer position depending on how aggressive you want the handling. The softer setting gives you less body roll than stock but it's still pretty comfortable for daily driving. The stiffer setting reduces body roll even more but the car feels more tail-happy and you might get some oversteer if you lift off the throttle mid-corner. Most people start on the softer setting for street driving and move to the stiffer setting if they're doing autocross or track days.

    Works Great with Eibach Springs

If you're already running Eibach Pro-Kit or Sportline lowering springs, this sway bar's designed to work with them. Lowering springs stiffen your suspension, which can make your car more tail-happy or prone to understeer depending on how the spring rates are set up. Adding a rear sway bar balances out the handling so the car rotates better into corners instead of pushing wide. Eibach sells this sway bar as part of their Pro-System-Plus and Sport-System-Plus kits, which include springs and sway bars together. If you bought the springs separately, this is the matching rear sway bar.

    2012-2015 Non-Si Needs Extra Hardware

If you've got a 2012-2015 Civic DX/EX/LX (not the Si), you need to buy the Eibach hardware kit 4031.312HKR separately. The 9th gen non-Si Civics have different rear suspension geometry than the 8th gen and the 9th gen Si, so they need different mounting brackets to install the sway bar. If you've got an 8th gen Civic (2006-2011) or a 9th gen Si (2012-2015), you can install the sway bar using your factory mounting brackets.

    What You Get

    • Eibach 19mm rear sway bar
    • Two-way adjustable (soft and stiff settings)
    • Solid steel construction
    • Polyurethane sway bar bushings included
    • Million-mile warranty

    Fits Your Car

    • 2006-2011 Honda Civic DX/EX/LX/Si (8th gen)
    • 2012-2015 Honda Civic Si (9th gen)
    • 2012-2015 Honda Civic DX/EX/LX (9th gen - requires hardware kit 4031.312HKR)

Note: This is just the rear sway bar. If you want front and rear sway bars, you need to buy the front bar separately. The sway bar comes with polyurethane bushings. Installation uses your factory mounting brackets, except for 2012-2015 non-Si models which require the separate hardware kit 4031.312HKR for different mounting brackets. Start with the softer adjustment setting and see how the car feels. If you want more rotation and less understeer, move to the stiffer setting. A stiffer rear sway bar will make your Civic rotate better into corners and reduce understeer, but it can also make your rear end more prone to oversteer if you're coming into a corner hot.
