Honda OEM Door Window Trim - 8th Gen Civic Sedan

You're washing your Civic and you notice the black plastic trim around your door windows looks like absolute garbage. It's faded to gray, it's cracked in three spots, the rubber portion is dry rotted, or it's completely turned chrome from sitting in the sun for fifteen years. Every 8th gen Civic has this problem. Here's Why Your Window Trim Looks Like Trash

The window trim on your 8th gen Civic's been sitting outside for fifteen years getting cooked by the sun. UV breaks down the plastic. The black finish fades to gray. Then it starts cracking at the screw holes or along the edges where it flexes when you open and close the door. Eventually the plastic gets so brittle that chunks break off. We've seen window trims that are completely smooth and chrome-looking because all the black coating's worn off. It looks terrible. The trim's also a wear item because water sits on it. When it rains or when you wash the car, water pools along the top of the door. That water sits in the groove where the window seals against the trim. Rear driver's side is 72950-SNA-A01. If only your driver's side front trim is cracked, you can buy just that one. But we've never seen an 8th gen Civic where only one piece of window trim is bad. If the driver's side's cracked, the passenger side's faded. If the fronts are trashed, the rears are on their way out. You're probably replacing all four. It makes sense to do them all at once. Your car's fifteen years old. The trim's all the same age. If one's failing, they're all failing. Do it once and you're done for another ten years.
