Replacing CV axles or wheel bearings on your Honda or Acura? You'll need a new axle nut. This is the genuine Honda 22mm axle nut that torques the CV axle to the wheel hub. It's a one-time-use fastener, which means once you remove it, you're supposed to replace it with a new one. Why You Can't Reuse It

Axle nuts are designed to stretch slightly when torqued to the factory spec (usually 180-242 lb-ft depending on the vehicle). That stretching is what keeps the nut locked on tight. Once it's been torqued, the threads are deformed and reusing it means you're not getting the same clamping force. If the nut backs off while you're driving, your wheel can come loose. It's a few dollars for a new nut versus potentially losing a wheel on the highway. Just replace it.
