Honda DC Integra/EM1 Si Passenger Side Axle Seal - 91205-PC9-711
Your Integra or EM1 Si leaking transmission fluid from the passenger side axle? Your axle seal's shot. This is the OEM passenger side axle seal that keeps trans fluid from leaking out where your axle shaft goes through the transmission case. Part number 91205-PC9-711. It's a 40x62x8mm rubber seal that presses into your transmission. When it's worn or cracked, trans fluid weeps out and drips all over your driveway. You're topping off your transmission fluid every few weeks and leaving spots wherever you park. Fresh seal stops the leak and your trans fluid stays where it's supposed to be.
Here's Why These Seals Leak
Axle seals are rubber. After 20-30 years of constant rotation and heat exposure, the rubber gets hard and brittle. The seal's lip that rides on your axle shaft wears down from friction. Eventually it cracks or the lip wears so thin that it can't seal anymore. Trans fluid starts seeping past the seal and dripping out. Sometimes the seal gets pushed in or torn when someone's pulling axles without being careful. Once the seal's damaged, it's leaking. There's no fixing it. You're replacing it.
Passenger Side Only
This seal's for the passenger side (right side) of your transmission only. The driver side uses a different seal with different dimensions. If both sides are leaking, you'll need to order the driver side seal separately. Most people only replace the side that's leaking unless they're doing a full transmission rebuild. If you're pulling your transmission for a clutch job or rebuild, replace both axle seals while you're in there. Seals are cheap and you're already doing the labor.
Replace It When You're Doing Axles or Clutch
If you're pulling your axles for CV joint replacement or you're dropping your transmission for a clutch job, replace this seal. It's cheap and it's right there. Old seals that aren't leaking yet will probably start leaking after you pull the axle. The act of removing the axle can damage the seal lip or push the seal inward. Don't put everything back together with a 30-year-old seal and find out it's leaking a week later. Just replace it while you've got access.

- 1985-1987 Honda Prelude Si
Note: This seal's for the passenger side only. Driver side uses a different part number. When you're installing the new seal, clean the seal bore in your transmission case thoroughly. Any dirt or metal shavings in the bore will damage the new seal immediately. Press the seal in straight using a seal driver or a socket that matches the outer diameter. Don't hammer on the seal directly or you'll deform it. The seal should sit flush with the transmission case. If it's recessed or sticking out, it's not seated right. Lube the seal lip with fresh transmission fluid before you slide your axle back in. This helps the seal lip slide over the axle without tearing. Don't dry-install the axle or you'll rip the seal. If you're doing a transmission rebuild, replace both axle seals at the same time even if only one side's leaking. They're cheap and you're already in there.
