Honda K20A2/K20Z1 Water Pump - 19200-PRB-A01
Your K20A2 or K20Z1 water pump's leaking or the bearings are starting to grind and you need a replacement? Part number 19200-PRB-A01. This is the OEM water pump for the K20A2 and K20Z1 engines. The pump circulates coolant through your engine to keep it from overheating. When the water pump fails, you're getting coolant leaks from the weep hole, bearing noise, or worst case, your engine's overheating because the pump's not moving coolant anymore. Fresh water pump keeps your coolant flowing and your engine running at the right temperature.
Here's How Water Pumps Fail
Water pumps fail in a few different ways. The most common is the seal going bad. You'll see coolant weeping from the weep hole on the bottom of the pump. That's the drain hole that lets you know the internal seal's failed. If you're seeing coolant dripping from there, your pump's done. The bearings can also fail. You'll hear a grinding or squealing noise from the front of the engine. The pump pulley might have play in it if you grab it and try to wiggle it. Bad bearings mean the pump needs to be replaced. Sometimes the impeller breaks or corrodes and the pump just stops moving coolant efficiently. Your engine runs hot even though the pump's not leaking and the bearings sound fine. Any of these symptoms means it's time for a new water pump.
OEM vs Aftermarket Water Pumps
You can get cheap aftermarket water pumps for half the price of OEM. They're hit or miss. Some work fine, some leak right out of the box, some fail in six months. The OEM Honda pump is built to the same spec as what came in your engine from the factory. Good bearings, proper impeller design, seals that actually last. It costs more but it's not a gamble. If you're doing a water pump job, you're already pulling the timing chain cover off and tearing into the front of your engine. That's hours of work. Don't save $40 on a cheap pump and then have to do the whole job again in a year when it fails. The OEM pump lasts. That's worth paying for.
Fits K20A2 and K20Z1 Engines
This water pump fits the K20A2 (2002-2004 RSX Type S) and the K20Z1 (2005-2006 RSX Type S). If you're running either of these engines in a swap, this is the right pump. K swaps in Civics, Integras, CRXs, whatever. Same pump. If you're building a K20A2 or K20Z1, add this to your parts list if the pump that came with your engine is questionable. Used engines from junkyards often have water pumps that are on their way out. Replace it during the swap so you're not pulling the engine back out six months later to fix a leaking water pump.
What You Get

- Circulates coolant through engine to prevent overheating
- Fits K20A2 and K20Z1 engines
- Same pump your engine came with from the factory
Fits Your Car
- 2002-2004 Acura RSX Type S (K20A2)
- 2005-2006 Acura RSX Type S (K20Z1)
- Any K20A2 or K20Z1 engine swap
Compatible Engines
- K20A2 (2002-2004 RSX Type S, K swaps)
- K20Z1 (2005-2006 RSX Type S, K swaps)
Note: When you're replacing your water pump, you need a fresh water pump gasket too. The gasket's part number 19222-RAA-A01 and it's sold separately. Don't reuse the old gasket or you'll be leaking coolant. When you're installing the new pump, clean the mating surfaces on the block completely. Remove all old gasket material. Install the new gasket dry and torque the water pump bolts evenly to around 9-10 ft-lbs. Don't overtighten or you'll crush the gasket. Fill the cooling system, burp the air out, and check for leaks before you button everything up. If you're doing a timing chain job, you're already pulling the water pump off to access the timing cover. Inspect it closely. If the bearings are rough, the seal's leaking, or the pump's got a lot of miles on it, replace it while you're in there. It's cheap insurance compared to having to tear into the front of the engine again later. If you're doing a K swap with a used engine, replace the water pump during the swap. Junkyard engines have unknown history. The pump might look fine but it could fail a month after you get the swap running. Replace it with a fresh OEM pump and you won't have to worry about it.
