  • Koyo Full-Size Aluminum Radiator - 1992-2000 Honda Civic B-Series Swap (EG/EK)

You swapped a B16 or B18 into your EG or EK Civic and the half-size radiator's not cutting it. You're tracking the car or you're running hard on backroads and the temps are climbing past where they should be. Koyo's full-size racing radiator is what Japanese N1 and VTEC One Make racers have been running for the past decade. This is part number VH0812N1 and it's a full-length radiator that takes up the entire front opening. No A/C condenser. No half-size compromise. You're getting a 36mm thick HyperCore with over 100% more core surface area than a half-size radiator. That's double the cooling capacity. The core's hand-TIG-welded, Nocolok-brazed, and triple pressure-tested at Koyo's factory in Japan. Your stock fan shroud bolts right up. Your stock DOHC radiator hoses bolt right up. The radiator's got 32mm inlet and outlet which is bigger than the stock B series hose size so you're not restricting flow. If you want to run an aftermarket coolant temp gauge, there's a 1/8 PT sensor port tapped directly into the upper tank. No need for a hose adapter. This is a Koyo racing radiator built for cars that get driven hard.

    Here's Why This Radiator's Full-Size

The stock Civic radiator's a half-size unit because Honda had to fit an A/C condenser in front of it. The radiator only takes up half the front opening. The other half's the condenser. That's fine for a stock car with air conditioning. It's not fine for a race car or a track car where you don't need A/C and you do need cooling. Koyo's full-size radiator uses the entire front opening. There's no A/C condenser so the radiator can be twice as wide. That gives you over 100% more core surface area compared to a half-size radiator. More surface area means more tubes for coolant to flow through and more fins for air to pass over. You're moving way more heat. The core's 36mm thick which is thicker than most half-size cores. You've got more coolant volume and more heat capacity. This radiator's designed for Japanese N1 racing and VTEC One Make series where cars are making serious power and running flat-out for 20-30 minute stints. If it can handle that, it can handle your B series swap on track days or backroads.

    36mm HyperCore with Nocolok Brazing

Koyo uses their HyperCore design on this radiator. That's a 36mm thick core with high-density fins. The core's Nocolok-brazed which is vacuum brazing where the aluminum's heated in a controlled atmosphere and the joints are fused without solder. It's stronger and more uniform than traditional soldering. The tubes aren't going to separate. The fins aren't going to fall off. Koyo hand-assembles every core and then hand-TIG-welds the aluminum end tanks. Each radiator's triple pressure-tested before it ships. They're not sending out radiators that leak. The top header plate's stamped with the Koyo logo so you know you're getting a real Koyo and not some knockoff. The inlet and outlet are 32mm. That's bigger than the stock B series radiator hose size which is around 28mm on most B series engines. You're not restricting coolant flow at the hoses. The bigger hose diameter means more flow and less pressure drop.

You Need a Rad Cap - Stock Cap Won't Fit

The stock Civic radiator cap doesn't fit this radiator. The filler neck's a different design. You need a Koyo SK-C13, SpeedFactory Type A, or Hybrid Racing Type F radiator cap. Don't try to use your stock cap. It won't seal. The SK-C13 is a 1.3 bar (18.85 PSI) high-pressure cap. That's higher than the stock 1.1 bar cap. Higher pressure raises the boiling point of your coolant from around 250°F to around 257°F. That extra headroom matters when you're running flat-out on track. Buy the cap when you buy the radiator. If you want to run an aftermarket coolant temp gauge, there's a 1/8 PT sensor port tapped into the upper tank. You're screwing your temperature sender directly into the radiator. No hose adapter. No T-fitting in your upper radiator hose. Just thread the sender in and you're done.

No A/C - Manual Transmission Only

This radiator does NOT fit cars with air conditioning. There's no A/C condenser mount because the radiator takes up the space where the condenser would go. If your Civic's got A/C, this radiator won't work. This is for race cars and track cars that don't have A/C. This radiator's also manual transmission only. Automatic transmission cars have a transmission cooler built into the radiator. This radiator doesn't have one. If you've got an automatic, this won't work. The radiator comes with an optional mounting bracket for the lower driver's side if you want extra support. Most people don't use it because the stock mounting points are enough. If you're running a really stiff setup or you're worried about the radiator moving around under hard braking, bolt the bracket on. Otherwise leave it off.

Bolts In with Stock Fan Shroud and Hoses

The stock Civic fan shroud bolts directly to this radiator. No modifications. Your stock DOHC radiator hoses bolt right up to the 32mm inlet and outlet. No custom hoses. No adapters. The radiator uses the stock upper and lower mounting points. You're pulling your old radiator and bolting this one in. The installation's straightforward if you've done cooling system work before. Drain the coolant, unbolt the old radiator, bolt in the Koyo, connect your hoses, fill it with coolant, burp the air out, and you're done. Two hours tops. The radiator's built in Japan at Koyo's factory. Koyo's Japan's largest aftermarket radiator manufacturer and they're the OEM supplier for half the Japanese car companies. This isn't a cheap radiator. This is a Koyo racing radiator built to the same spec as the units running in Japanese touring car racing.
