Radium Engineering 6AN Fuel Filter Fitting - Honda/Acura (M12x1.25)
You're swapping to an aftermarket fuel pump or you're running an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and you need to convert your factory fuel lines to 6AN. The stock fuel filter on your Integra, Civic, Accord, or Prelude bolts to the firewall with banjo fittings and factory hard lines. Radium makes this 6AN fitting that threads into the factory fuel filter so you can ditch the hard lines and run braided -6AN hose instead. The fitting's M12x1.25 thread pitch which is what Honda uses on the canister-style fuel filters from the mid-'90s through early 2000s. It comes with the fitting and a copper crush washer. You're threading this into the fuel filter where the factory banjo bolt goes, tightening it down with the copper washer to seal it, then you're threading a -6AN hose end onto the fitting. Now you've got a -6AN fuel line coming off your factory filter instead of the hard line. This works if you're keeping the factory filter or if you're using an aftermarket inline filter that uses the same M12x1.25 threads.
Here's Why You'd Run This Fitting
If you're doing any kind of fuel system work, braided AN lines are way easier to work with than factory hard lines. The hard lines are a pain. They're bent to specific shapes, they route through weird spots in the engine bay, and if you need to remove them you're fighting with line wrenches and hoping you don't strip the fittings. AN lines are flexible. You route them however you need to route them. You can disconnect them in seconds with a wrench. If you're running an aftermarket fuel pump like a Walbro 255 or 450, you're probably already running -6AN or -8AN lines from the pump to a fuel pressure regulator. This fitting lets you tie the factory fuel filter into that AN system. You're running -6AN from the pump to the regulator, -6AN from the regulator to this fitting on the fuel filter, then -6AN from the filter to the fuel rail. Everything's braided stainless line with AN fittings. No hard lines, no weird bends, no stripped banjo bolts.
M12x1.25 Thread Pitch Fits Factory Canister Filters
Honda used canister-style fuel filters on most of their cars from the mid-'90s through the early 2000s. The filter's a metal canister that bolts to the firewall with a bracket. Fuel comes in one side, goes through the filter element inside the canister, and comes out the other side. The inlet and outlet ports on the filter are M12x1.25 threads. The factory uses banjo bolts with crush washers to connect the hard lines to those ports. Radium's fitting threads into those same M12x1.25 ports. You're pulling the banjo bolt out, threading the Radium fitting in with the included copper washer, and you're done. The fitting's got male -6AN threads on the other end so you thread a -6AN hose end onto it. Now you've got a -6AN line coming off the filter instead of a hard line with a banjo fitting.
Comes with Copper Crush Washer
The fitting comes with a copper crush washer. That's the sealing washer that goes between the fitting and the fuel filter port. When you tighten the fitting down, the copper washer crushes slightly and forms a seal. Don't reuse old washers. Don't use the factory washers from the banjo bolts. Use the new copper washer that comes with the fitting. Copper's soft and it seals better than aluminum or steel washers. When you're installing the fitting, thread it in by hand first to make sure the threads are clean and it's not cross-threading. Then snug it down with a wrench. You don't need to crank on it. Tighten it until the copper washer's compressed and the fitting's snug. If you over-tighten it you'll strip the threads in the aluminum filter housing and you're buying a new filter.

- 1997-2001 Honda Prelude
Note: Only fits canister-style fuel filters with M12x1.25 threads. Does NOT fit newer spin-on cartridge-style filters or earlier models with different thread pitches. This fitting replaces the factory banjo bolt on the fuel filter inlet or outlet. Use the included copper crush washer - don't reuse old washers. Thread the fitting in by hand first to make sure it's not cross-threading. Snug it down with a wrench but don't over-tighten or you'll strip the threads in the aluminum filter housing. You'll need -6AN hose ends and braided stainless line to complete the conversion from factory hard lines to AN lines. Most people run this fitting on the outlet side of the filter (the side that goes to the fuel rail) and keep the factory hard line on the inlet side, or run AN fittings on both sides if converting the entire fuel system to AN.
