If you're rebuilding your K series head or you're burning oil from worn seals, these Viton seals last longer and seal better than factory seals. They're designed for 5.5mm valve stems, so they work with aftermarket performance valves from Supertech, Ferrea, and other companies that use 5.5mm stems.

Why Your Valve Stem Seals Fail

Your valve stem seals keep oil from leaking down the valve guides into the combustion chamber. The factory seals are made from rubber, and rubber breaks down from heat and oil exposure over time. When your seals fail, oil leaks past the valve guides and burns in the combustion chamber. That's why you see blue smoke on startup or when you're getting on the throttle hard. Fresh seals stop the oil leak and the smoke goes away.

Viton Handles Heat and E85 Better Than Rubber

Supertech makes these seals from DuPont Viton instead of rubber. Viton's a fluoroelastomer that handles high temps way better than rubber. It's rated to 400°F continuous, which is hotter than your cylinder head gets even when you're beating on the motor. Viton also resists E85, race gas additives, and oil degradation better than rubber. If you're running E85 or you're tracking the car, Viton seals last longer than rubber seals.

5.5mm Valve Stem Only

These seals are sized for 5.5mm valve stems. The factory K series intake valves use 5mm stems, and the factory exhaust valves use 5.5mm stems. If you're upgrading to aftermarket performance valves from Supertech, Ferrea, or similar companies, they typically use 5.5mm stems for both intake and exhaust. That means you'll need 5.5mm seals for both intake and exhaust. Make sure your valves are 5.5mm stems before you order these seals.

Sold as Sets of 8

The seals are sold in sets of 8 (either intake or exhaust, not both). K series engines have 8 intake valves and 8 exhaust valves, so you need two sets for a complete head: one set of intake seals and one set of exhaust seals. Order both sets if you're doing a complete head rebuild.

Note: These seals are for 5.5mm valve stems only. Factory K series intake valves use 5mm stems, so these seals won't work with stock intake valves.
