  • Turbosmart GenV PowerGate 60 External Wastegate

Are you building a serious turbo setup and you need a wastegate that can actually control boost without creeping? The Turbosmart GenV PowerGate 60 is a true 60mm external wastegate that moves massive exhaust flow. When you're making big power and smaller wastegates can't keep up, this is the one you need. It flows enough to keep boost stable on high horsepower builds where a 50mm or smaller gate just gets overwhelmed and you're fighting boost creep all day.

    Here's Why This Gate Works

Heat kills wastegates. The PowerGate 60 uses a 347 stainless steel body with a Nitronic 60 valve guide. That means it stays consistent when your EGTs are climbing and you're doing back-to-back pulls. The materials handle repeated heat cycles without getting lazy or losing spring tension. If you're doing track days or logging dyno time, the gate's not fading on you after a few hard runs. The actuator housing clocks so you can orient it however you need for packaging. There's optional liquid cooling for the actuator if you're really beating on it, and you can add a position sensor to log actual valve movement and see what the gate's doing in real time.

    Built for High Flow Applications

This is Turbosmart's largest GenV wastegate. It's designed for turbo setups that move a ton of exhaust. The 60mm poppet valve flows enough to handle big single turbos or compound setups where you're making serious power. The flow design's been CFD tested and bench tested to make sure it's not restricting. When you're trying to control boost on a 700+ horsepower setup, the wastegate needs to flow as much as the turbine housing. A 40mm or 50mm gate can't do that. You end up with boost creep because the gate can't vent enough exhaust. The PowerGate 60 vents enough to keep boost where you set it.

    Easy to Install and Service

The inlet's a 60mm V-band with strap style clamps. V-band makes installation and removal way easier than welded flanges. If you need to service the gate or swap springs, you're not cutting and rewelding. Just loosen the clamp, pull the gate, do your work, clamp it back on. The springs are 17-7 PH stainless steel. That's a precipitation-hardened alloy that holds its rating through heat cycles. When you swap springs to change boost targets, the new spring does what it's supposed to without wandering all over the place. Consistent spring pressure means predictable boost control.

We Run These on Our Own Cars

This isn't a product we're selling because it's got good margins. We run PowerGate 60s on our own turbo builds. When you're tuning a car and the wastegate's doing weird stuff, it makes your life miserable. Boost creeps, the gate doesn't open when it should, or it opens too much and you're losing boost mid-pull. The PowerGate 60 does what you tell it to do. Set your spring pressure, set your boost target, and it holds. That's what you're paying for. Reliable boost control that doesn't make tuning a nightmare.

    What You Get

    • Turbosmart GenV PowerGate 60 external wastegate
    • 60mm poppet valve for maximum exhaust flow
    • 347 stainless steel body with Nitronic 60 valve guide
    • 17-7 PH stainless steel springs for consistent boost control
    • 60mm V-band inlet with strap style clamps
    • Clockable actuator housing for flexible mounting
    • Optional liquid actuator cooling available
    • Optional position sensor for datalogging
    • Available in black, blue, purple, and red

    Best For

    • Big single turbo setups (GT42+, Precision 6266+, etc.)
    • Compound turbo systems
    • High horsepower builds (700+ hp)
    • Track cars that see repeated hard pulls
    • Any application where boost creep is a problem

Note: This is a 60mm wastegate. Make sure your exhaust manifold or turbo flange is set up for a 60mm V-band connection. If you're currently running a smaller wastegate and dealing with boost creep, this is the fix. Larger wastegates need less actuator pressure to open, so you'll probably need to adjust your boost controller settings after installation. Start conservative and dial it in. The position sensor option is worth it if you're tuning seriously. Being able to log valve position and compare it to boost pressure tells you exactly what the gate's doing and helps you tune faster. Don't cheap out on the wastegate when you're building a high power turbo setup. A gate that can't flow enough or can't handle heat ruins the whole build. The PowerGate 60 costs more than budget gates, but you're not spending weeks chasing boost issues or replacing it in a year when it stops working right.
