Honda B Series Oil Dipstick - 15650-P30-000
Your dipstick's bent, the markings are worn off, or you're doing a B series swap and the dipstick you've got is the wrong length. Either way, this is the fix. The Honda B series oil dipstick (part number 15650-P30-000) is the genuine OEM replacement for B16, B17, B18, and B20 engines. Correct length, correct bend, correct markings. That's what makes it worth caring about.
Why the Right Dipstick Actually Matters
A dipstick isn't just a stick. It's got to be the exact right length to reach the bottom of your oil pan, and the bend has to match your engine so it seats properly in the tube. Get that wrong and your oil level readings are wrong - every single time you check.
Too short and it reads low when you're actually full. Too long or bent wrong and it reads high, so you think you're good when you're actually down a quart. Running your B series low on oil starves the rod bearings and VTEC head. Overfilling causes the crank to whip the oil into foam, which kills oil pressure almost instantly. Both scenarios cost you an engine. A $15 dipstick is a lot cheaper than a B18C5.
Factory Length, Factory Markings
This dipstick has the factory oil level markings for B series engines. Pull it out, wipe it clean on a rag, reinsert it all the way, pull it out again, and read the level. If it's between the two marks, you're good. Below the low mark - add oil. Above the high mark - drain some out. It's that simple, but only if your dipstick's giving you accurate readings. This one does.
Especially Useful for Engine Swaps
If you're dropping a B series into an EF, EG, EK, or DC chassis and the swap came without a dipstick - or came with one from a different B variant - this is the part you need. Using a B18B dipstick in a B16 (or vice versa) will give you slightly off readings because the oil pans have different capacities and geometries. Use the correct part number and stop guessing.
Need a Dipstick Tube Too?
This is the dipstick only. If your dipstick tube is cracked, snapped off at the block, or missing entirely, the Honda B series oil dipstick tube is available separately as honda b16 b17 b18 oil dipstick tube 11111 pr3 300 (part number OHA-11111-PR3-300). That's the metal tube pressed into the block that this dipstick slides into. If your tube's broken, order both. Note: that tube does not fit the B20 found in the 1997-1998 CR-V.

How to Check Your Oil Correctly: Check on flat ground with the engine off and cooled for at least five minutes. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, reinsert it all the way, pull it out again, then read the level. Checking right after shutdown gives you a false low reading because oil is still draining back into the pan. Don't overfill - if you're above the high mark, drain some out. Foamed oil doesn't lubricate.
