  • Honda K Series Lower Timing Cover Bolt - 90021-PNA-000

Pulling your K series timing cover and you need fresh bolts? This is the OEM bolt that secures the lower part of your timing chain cover to the block. Part number 90021-PNA-000. It threads into the block and clamps the cover down so your timing chain stays sealed. When you're tearing into your timing chain for a replacement or you're doing front seals, you're pulling these bolts out. Don't throw old crusty bolts back in that've been torqued down for 100k miles. Fresh bolts torque right and your cover seals properly.

Here's Why the Right Bolt Matters

Timing cover bolts keep your timing chain sealed inside the motor. Loose bolts mean your cover leaks oil everywhere. Bolts that're too long bottom out in the holes and the cover won't clamp down tight. You're leaking. Wrong thread pitch and you're just chewing up threads in your aluminum block. The OEM bolt's the right length and pitch for the lower cover spots. Don't dig through your bolt bin hoping something works. Get the right bolt and your cover seals up.

    Goes in Two Lower Spots

This bolt goes in the lower left and lower right positions on your timing chain cover. K series timing covers use different size bolts in different spots. They're not all the same. This one (90021-PNA-000) goes in the two bottom holes. If you're replacing all your timing cover bolts, you'll need different part numbers for the other spots. Check your cover and see how many bolts you've got and where they go. Don't assume they're all identical.

Different Spot on Newer Turbo Motors

Here's where it gets weird. On older K series motors (K20A, K20Z, K23A, K24A, K24Z), this bolt goes at the bottom left and bottom right of the cover. On newer turbocharged K series motors (K20C1, K20C2, K20C4, K20C9, K24W1, K24W7) - the ones in 10th and 11th gen Civics, Integra Type S, and newer TLX and RDX - this same bolt goes above the timing chain cover instead. Same part number, totally different spot. If you're working on a 2016+ turbo Honda or Acura, check your service manual so you know where this bolt actually goes.

    • K24W1, K24W7 (Integra Type S, TLX, RDX)

Note: Sold individually. Check how many you need for your cover. Older K series motors use this bolt at the bottom left and bottom right. Newer turbo K series (2016+) use it above the cover. When you're bolting your timing cover down, torque the bolts to spec in the right sequence (check your manual). Don't go crazy with the torque wrench or you'll strip threads in your aluminum block. Don't undertorque them either or your cover's gonna leak. Use a torque wrench, not an impact gun. If you're doing a timing chain job, replace the chain, tensioner, guides, and all the cover bolts together. Don't mix old and new stuff. Slap a thin bead of Hondabond or RTV on the cover mating surface before you bolt it down. Let the RTV set up for however long Honda says before you fill it with oil and fire it up.
