PRL Motorsports Rear Motor Mount - 2018-2022 Honda Accord
Aftermarket polyurethane engine mounts are known to be a bit harsh, even in their softest durometer. PRL makes a rear motor mount that actually reduces engine movement without turning your Accord into a vibrating mess. It uses 60A EPDM bushings instead of urethane, which means it's stiffer than the factory mount but way quieter than urethane mounts. The mount's machined from billet 6061 aluminum with an I-beam design that resists bending without adding a ton of weight. If you want to reduce wheel hop and improve throttle response without rattling your fillings loose, this is the mount you need.
Why Most Aftermarket Mounts Rattle Like Crazy
Here's the problem with most aftermarket motor mounts: they use urethane bushings in a basic bracket design. Urethane's stiff, which reduces engine movement, but it transmits way more vibration into the chassis than rubber. That's why your car rattles and buzzes after you install urethane mounts. We use EPDM bushings instead of urethane. EPDM's denser than urethane, which means we can use a softer 60A durometer and still get more rigidity than the factory mount. The softer durometer absorbs vibration way better than hard urethane, so you get the performance benefits without the constant rattling.
EPDM Doesn't Break Down Like Urethane
Urethane bushings mushroom and wallow out over time, especially when they're exposed to heat, oil, and road chemicals. EPDM resists heat, ozone, chemicals, and abrasion way better than urethane. It doesn't break down or deform over time. That's why OEM manufacturers use EPDM in factory mounts. Our EPDM bushings are press-fit into the aluminum mount body, which eliminates any gaps that would let metal-on-metal contact happen. The bushings absorb engine vibration instead of transmitting it into the chassis.
I-Beam Design Resists Bending
We designed this mount with an I-beam cross-section, which is the same design used in connecting rods and structural beams. I-beams resist bending, stress, and vibration way better than flat plates or simple brackets. We were able to add way more material than the factory mount without making it crazy heavy. The extra material increases rigidity and strength, which reduces engine movement during hard acceleration and shifting.
One Mount for All Applications
We tested this mount on different Accords with different engines and transmissions (1.5T CVT, 1.5T manual, 2.0T manual, 2.0T automatic) to find one bushing durometer that works for everyone. You're not picking between street and track versions or soft and stiff options. We settled on 60A EPDM because it works for stock daily drivers and modified track cars without being too soft or too stiff for either.
What You Get
- PRL Motorsports rear motor mount
- CNC-machined billet 6061 aluminum construction
- I-beam design for maximum rigidity
- Two press-fit 60A EPDM bushings
- Zinc-coated bushing shells and center inserts
Fits Your Car
- 2018-2022 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T (manual and CVT)
- 2018-2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T (manual and automatic)
Compatible Engines
- L15BE (2018-2022 Accord 1.5T)
- K20C4 (2018-2022 Accord 2.0T)
Note: Fits both manual and automatic transmissions. This is a single rear motor mount. It replaces the factory rear mount only. The 60A EPDM bushings are softer than most urethane mounts but stiffer than the factory mount. You'll feel slightly more vibration than stock, but way less than urethane mounts. There's no break-in period. The mount works right away.
